Bastille Day in Paris in 2024: A Year Like No Other
Paris 2024... What a year! The Olympics are a game-changer this summer in the French capital, even for the celebration of Bastille Day, traditionally taking place on the Champs Elysées. This year, due to the Olympic installations, the parade will be moved to Avenue Foch in the 16th arrondissement, another grand avenue descending from the Arc de Triomphe but in the opposite direction of the Champs Elysées.
What will not change for Bastille Day in Paris in 2014, however, is our wonderful, stunning, breathtaking fireworks, which will be fired as usual from the Eiffel Tower.
Best Free Spots to watch the fireworks:
Avenue de Camoëns: This small, picturesque street offers an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower.
Passerelle Debilly: A pedestrian bridge near the Eiffel Tower with a great view, perfect admire the Paris Bastille Day fireworks.
Quais de Seine (Avenue de New-York): The riverbanks along Avenue de New-York provide excellent vantage points.
Pont de Bir-Hakeim: A stunning bridge with an iconic view of the Eiffel Tower.
Pont Mirabeau: Another bridge that offers a good perspective.
Free Elevated Viewpoints:
For those who prefer a broader view of the city, consider these locations:
Montmartre: The steps of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica offer a panoramic view of Paris.
Parc des Buttes Chaumont: One of the highest points to watch the Bastille Day fireworks in Paris, perfect for a scenic view. And a favorite spot for the Parisians.
Avoiding the Crowds
Of course, needless to say, you won't be alone in all these places—they can be really (and I mean really) packed. If you dislike crowds, it might be better to either opt for the parks or take some height with a rooftop.

There are many options here, and prices are higher on Batille Day in Paris. My recommendations are:
Rooftop Eylau: A chic rooftop bar with a great view.
Skybar: Located at the top of a modern building with stunning panoramic views.
Montmarparnasse Top of the City: Offers one of the best panoramic views of Paris from the Montparnasse Tower.
Enjoy a Seine River cruise
If you want to avoid the crowds entirely on Bastille Day in Paris, you could opt for a cruise on the Seine River. Here are some options:
Vedettes du Pont Neuf: Offers various cruise packages, some with dinner.
Le Capitaine Fracasse : Known for its dinner cruises with a view of the fireworks.
Bateaux-mouches : Classic Parisian river cruises with excellent views of the city and the fireworks.
